PURPOSE:To attain recording with high density and the operation at a high speed by using a vertical magnetic head to record and reproduce signals. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic recording medium 7 is easily separated from a magnetic base 6 by extending a spring 11 against its force to detach retaining tool 8 from a rotary shaft 5. Then the medium 7 can be taken out. The base 6 is produced by forming a soft magnetic layer 61 for horizontal magnetization with high permeability on a hard magnetic substrate 62 together with mechanical finishing with high accuracy. The medium 7 is produced by forming a vertically magnetized layer 72 on the substrate 71. The substrate 71 used a polyester film, etc. and contains the layer 72 formed on a thin film of about 5-10mu by a sputtering process, etc. For the adhesion direction between the board 6 and the medium 7, the layer 61 has a contact with the substrate 71. |
