<p>Impact resistant polystyrene compsn. consist of amixt. of (1) a styrene polymer (2) a diene rubber polymer, and (3) a styrene/diene block copolymer. The compsn. contains 80-99 esp. 85-95 wt.% total styrene polymer, including polymer in (1) and (2), and 1-20 esp. 5-15 wt.% diene rubber, including rubber in (2) and (3), the content of (3) being such that this component provides 3-90 wt.% of the rubber in the compsn, based on total rubber. Excellent impact resistance for relatively low rubber contents. Good tensile strength and flux resistance. Easily prepd. by mechanical mixing.</p> |
