<p>Appts. for precise stitching of knited fabrics with a sewing machine comprises >=1 support for the fabrics, consisting of a grooved plate bearing pins which can be moved axially between extended and retracted positions, in the former of which the stitch loops of one piece of fabric can be moved along a path for stitching to hte other piece of fabric. On the machine is a guide for guiding the support along a path which, at least in the region of the machine needle, aligns with the path along which the machine normally advances fabrics. Means for controlling the pins on the support cause them to be retracted by axial displacement as they move past the level of the needle of the sewing machine. The appts. allows precision working which could previously be obtd. only with a looping machine.</p> |
