Oligodynamic liquid sterilizer - using an electric current between electrodes to transfer ions esp silver

Two sets of electrodes of CuAg alloy, with a Cu:Ag ratio 20:1 e.g. 50-90 wt.% Cu with Ag to 100%, pref. 80 Cu and 20 Ag, are connected to a d.c. source whose polarity is reversed by an electronic switching unit every 8-11 seconds and the liquid to be purified, esp. drinking water or swimming pool water, is passed over the electrodes. Ag consumption is relatively low.
