<p>Anaerobically hardening adhesive or anaerobic sealing compsn. contains (a) an anaerobically hardening acrylate monomer, (b) peroxide to initiate monomer hardening on exclusion of O2, and (c) 0.25-10, esp. 1-2.5 wt. % of an anionic and/or nonionic surfactant dissolved in the compsn. Addn. of surfactant renders the compsn. self-emulsifiable on mixing with water. The compsns. are used for sealing porous articles, esp. metals, before use. The compsns. are easily rinsed off surfaces by washing with water. They are partic. useful in impregnating processes in which the unhardened resin must be removed from zones which are washed with difficulty, e.g. small, dead holes.</p> |
