PURPOSE:To improve running stability at mode switching by performing the steering control of rear wheels following the switching of two-wheel and four- wheel steering modes while front wheels are being steered more slowly at high speed running that at low speed running. CONSTITUTION:A steering device (A) that steers front wheels and rear wheels, rear wheel steering device B, and controller D that controls the rear wheel steering device B by selecting a four-wheel steering mode that varies the rear wheel steering angle according to the front wheel steering angle detected by a front wheel steering angle sensor C and a two-wheel steering mode that reduces the rear wheel steering angle to zero independently of the front wheel steering angle. In this case, a mode switching means E thats indicates mode switching and a car speed sensor F are also provided and an operating speed adjusting means G outputting switching signals that receive the output of the mode switching means E and the car speed sensor F and delay the operating speed of an actuator B' of the rear wheel steering device at mode switching more at high running that at low speed running is provided. |
