PURPOSE:To effectively damp the energy of tidal waves in a buffer water region by blowing air into the heads of overflow waves by a method in which coastal area or water region to be protected from tidal waves is surrounded by breakwaters such as wave-breaking dams, etc., to form a buffer water region. CONSTITUTION:A U-shaped wave-breaking dam 2 is constructed in the water region infront of facilities and coastal area 4 to be protected from tidal waves to form a tidal waves control region and a buffer water region 3. The dam 2 and the buffer water region 3 are integrated to become the shock absorber of tidal waves. While tidal waves 1 are broken by the dam 2, air is involved into the heads of overflow waves, and the energy of tidal waves is damped in the buffer water region 3 to protect the facilities, etc., from tidal waves. |
