发明名称 MANUFACTURE OF LEAD STORAGE BATTERY
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a battery in which cells are connected with high reliability by placing a lead plate over the lugs of negative plates held together with a jig before heating is performed to form thin lead films on the negative lugs, then installing positive plates and the thus treated negative plates in a container, being followed by heating and melting the positive and the negative lugs through a partition member. CONSTITUTION:After the lugs 4a of negative plates 4 made of plastic grids are held together with a jig 8, a lead plate 9 is placed over the lugs 4a before welding is performed thereby forming lead layers 10 on the pointed ends of the negative plates 4. Next, positive plates 3 and the negative plates 4 are placed in each cell chamber formed by dividing a container by means of a partition member 13 so that positive lugs 3a and negative lugs 4a are exposed above the container 12. After that, the exposed areas are heated and molten from upward to perform intercellular connection. By the means mentioned above, a light small lead storage battery havng plastic grids can be easily obtained. In addition, it is possible to improve the reliability of the welded areas and to increase the manufacturing efficiency of the battery.
