PURPOSE:To attain the prolongation of service life of a battery of a terminal device by providing a switching means of a battery saving period of the terminal device to a main device to change the battery saving period in response to the traffic state. CONSTITUTION:To battery saving signal 4 is transmitted from the master device 1 to the terminal device 2 in a period selected by a changeover switch 8. The calling from the main device 1 to the terminal device 2 is performed by a call number 12 of the signal 4. After the device 2 receives the signal 4 from the devide 1, when the signal is not addressed to the own station, the device 2 sets the time of a built-in timer in response to the period represented by saving period information 11, interrupts immediately the power supply of the major part except for the timer and enters the saving operation. Thus, the saving period is increased only when the traffic of the devices 1, 2 is less, thereby prolonging the battery service life. |
