<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having superior surface properties, orientability and electromagnetic characteristics by mixing a resin soln. for a magnetic coating material contg. a specified copolymer as the principal component with a radiation-sensitive curable resin, kneading the mixture with magnetic powder, coating the resulting magnetic coating material on a nonmagnetic substrate, and fixing it with radiation. CONSTITUTION:A resin soln. for a magnetic coating material contg. a five- component type copolymer having 100-400 average degree of polymn. and consisting of vinyl chloride, vinyl ester of carboxylic acid, unsatd. carboxylic acid, unsatd. carboxylic acid anhydride and vinyl alochol is mixed with a radiation- sensitive curable resin having one or more unsatd. double bonds in the molecular chain. The resin generates radicals when irradiated, and it is cured by cross- linking or polymn. The amount of the resin used is 80-90wt%, and that of the soln. is 10-20wt%. A magnetic recording medium having a low coefft. of friction, superior surface properties such as high glossiness, satisfactory orientability and electromagnetic characteristics is obtd.</p> |
