[Also in Divisions H3-H5] In a bi-stable multivibrator individual elements V 1 , V 2 having thyratron characteristics are connected to the base of each transistor, the other terminals of the elements being connected to a control voltage U E via a common series resistor R. The elements V 1 , V 2 may be four-layered diodes or PNP-NPN transistor combinations. In operation transistor T 1 is ON and T 2 is OFF with U E = 0. As control voltage U E increases at a particular value of U E , element V 2 fires and transistor T 2 starts conducting with T 1 OFF. Several circuits may be connected in series to form a cascade counter. |
