PURPOSE:To enable formation of an image which is approximately uniform oven the entire surface and has adequate density from any original by irradiating the original with plural lamps and controlling the quantity of the light to be exposed to the original by the outputs of photodetectors disposed to face the photodetecting regions of the light emitted from the respective lamps and reflected from the original. CONSTITUTION:The quantity of the light reflected from an original 1 illuminated by lamps 5a-5n, i.e., the density of the original is detected by photodetectors 6a-6n. If a part 1a having high density exists in a part of the original 1 in this case, the outputs 6a'-6n' of the photodetectors 6a-6n are as shown in the figure (a). More specifically, the output 6b' of the photodetector 6b corresponding to the part 1a having high density is low and the oututs 6a', 6c', 6n' of the photodetectors 6a, 6b, 6n corresponding to the other parts are high. In such a case, the density is made uniform simply by controlling the quantity of the light 5a'- 5n' from the lamps 5a-5n corresponding to the respective photodetectors according to the outputs 6a'-6n' of the respective photodetectors 6a-6n by a control circuit. |
