PURPOSE:To simplify structure and reduce a cost by selectively feeding car height adjusting oil pressure to an ON-OFF valve through a spool valve in a hydraulic shock absorber for car height adjustment of an automobile or the like. CONSTITUTION:Oil passages 27, 28 are put in communication with an oil tank 6 in a lower position of the valve member 24b of a spool valve 24 through an oil passage 25 so that ON state may be maintained by ON-OFF valve 21. On the other hand, the oil chamber 7 of a shock absorber R1 and the ON-OFF valve 21 communicate with each other in an upper position of the valve member 24b through oil passages 26-28, and oil pressure in the oil chamber 7 is supplied to move a valve member 21a downward, the ON-OFF valve 21 being brought in OFF condition. Accordingly, by operating the valve member 24b by means of a solenoid 24a, the spring constant can be adjusted through utilizing an accumulator 23 for car height adjustment oil pressure in the oil chamber 7 of the shock absorber R1. Thus, structure of the captioned shock absorber is simplified. |
