1281620 Umbrella handles W BAUERMANN & SÍHNE GmbH 4 May 1970 [6 May 1969] 21351/70 Heading A4P An umbrella handle has a plastics body portion 11, Fig.6 secured to a separately fabricated cap 17 by means of projections 14 on the body periphery which engage or snap under an inwardly directed bead 18 on the resiliently deformable cap 17. A lug 15 maybe provided to attach a strap and may form one of the projections. Alternatively a strap 23, Fig. 8 may pass through holes in the cap and be secured in a hole 21 in the body portion by a pin 24. The body portion 13 may be set in between the projections 14 to allow the cap to deform during fitting. The cap is preferably metal. The body portion may be hollow as shown to receive the end of the umbrella stick or may have a stud to engage a hole in the stick. The stick may alternatively be attached by a nut (34), Fig. 9 (not shown). The handle may be of circular or oblong plan shape. The lug for attaching a strap may alternatively be attached to the cap or may have hook shaped resilient bifurcations adapted to be pushed through a hole in the cap and anchored in a recess in the body. |
