PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of image quality and to enable reduction in size and easy correction of gradation by converting a video signal to digital RGB signals and storing said signals then correcting the gradation by a digital system. CONSTITUTION:A video signal of a VTR or the like is converted to RGB signals by an RGB decoder 11 and after said signals are converted to digital signals by an AD convsrter 13, the signals are stored in a frame memory 15. The digital RGB signals prior to correction of the gradation are inputted as the address of the LUT memory 26 which stores the look-up data in a gradation correcting part 16. The look up data of the memory 26 is read out as the digital RGB signals after correction of the gradation, by which the gradation is digitally correcated. The number of the DA and AD conversions is thus decreased, by which the deterioration in mage quality owing to a bit error is prevented. The entire part of the device is reduced in size and the easy correction of the gradation is made possible. |
