PURPOSE:To assure the current cutoff function to an ignition coil even if a microcomputer runs away and improve the starting performance by providing a detecting means detecting the failure of an ignition control device and the start of an internal-combustion engine and an ignition assuring means. CONSTITUTION:The engine operation state is detected by a CPU150 based on output signals of a load detection sensor 1, the battery voltage 2, and an angle detection sensor 4; and the ignition timing and the ignition coil charging time is controlled to operate a power transistor 180 and an ignition coil. In this case, when backup signals from the CPU150 and a starter switch 5 are fed, the backup time (including start time) is detected by a backup mode detection circuit 142. Then, the ignition timing is controlled based on the fixed angle signal formed by outputs of a reference position detection sensor 3 and the angle detection sensor 4. |
