A tracing or lettering pen (1) has a cylindrical barrel which contains a labyrinth (4) to allow a controlled flow of ink to the nib (5). The barrel (2) is fitted in a two part housing which are screwed together. The upper part of the barrel forms an ink reservoir which is sealed at the upper end by the cap. The lower end of the reservoir is sealed during manufacture by a plug (10) attached to the end of the labyrinth (4). The plug (10) remains in the sealing position as long as the two parts of the housing are not fully screwed together. When these two parts are screwed fully together the cap (10) opens a gap and allows ink to flow through the labyrinth.
|
