The invention relates to the exchanging of digital information between several stations, each of which can be equipped with a digital data transmitter-receiver appliance, such as 41 to 44. A digital bus is defined by a first section 1 and a second section 2, the two sections being interconnected at 3, and furthermore having absorbent end loads 10 and 20 to prevent signal reflections bearing in mind the high transmission rate required. The transmission amplifiers E of the appliances 41 to 44 are connected to directional couplers 11 to 14 connected into the section 1, which is therefore an upstream section of the bus. Conversely, the downstream section 2 of the bus possesses directional couplers 21 to 24 connected to the reception amplifiers R of the appliances 41 to 44. This arrangement permits the transmission of digital information, in base band, at rates of 10 to 20 megabits per second and more. <IMAGE>
