PURPOSE:To obtain a cooking utensil, which is easily to handle and has a great operational convenience and the cleanliness of the top plate of which can be kept easily, by a constitution wherein a trivet is extended or contracted at will. CONSTITUTION:When supporting posts 10 consisting of a trivet 9 is pulled forward, folded connecting pieces are stretched and the supporting posts lying before the rearmost post, which is fixed, accordingly extended forward. The supporting post 10 slides on trivet bearing surfaces 7 through L-shape seat parts 13 formed at both the ends of the supporting posts 10. The forward spreading of the supporting posts 10 does not stop until the foremost supporting past 10 of the trivet 9 reaches the forward end of a broth catching surface 4 in order for the trivet 9 to cover the whole surface of the broth catching surface for using a cooking utensil. When the foremost supporting post 10 of the trivet 9 is pushed backward after the use of the cooking utensil is over, the trivet is contracted and housed on the rear trivet bearing surface 7. Thus the broth catching surface 4 is open and can easily wiped of broth. In addition, because the trivet bearing surface 7 is located by one step higher than the broth catching surface 4, the trivet 9 is kept clean at all times. |
