A rotating mechanical seal which is subjected from inside to the aggressive medium to be sealed off and in which the revolving slip ring (7) resting against a counter-ring (2) mounted in a fixed manner in the housing to be sealed off is connected via a polytetrafluoroethylene seal bellows (10) to a clamping ring (9) fixed on the shaft (1). The seal bellows (10), which is arranged radially within a spring arrangement (13) for the axial preloading of the slip ring (7) and a torque transmission arrangement (12) and protects these components from the aggressive medium, has a first connection part (15) with a portion (18) which rests against the shaft (1), at the outside widens conically towards the centre of the bellows and is surrounded and subjected to pressure externally by the clamping ring (9), which is of complementary shape. The thickened second connection part (16), which is likewise integrally moulded on the seal bellows (10) projects with an outer, tapered connection face into a tapered surface of complementary design in a bore of the slip ring, is reduced in thickness at the free end to form a lip and is provided in the tapered connection surface with encircling grooves (25). By virtue of this design, leaks at the transition to the slip ring caused by cold flow of the bellows material and the necessity for an adjusting ring to be placed behind the clamping ring are avoided. <IMAGE>
