Apparatus for the fabrication and leakage testing of welded tubes

The apparatus enables a metal tube (10) formed from a strip and having a longitudinal seam weld to be continuously tested for leaks by means of a helium leak detector. It essentially consists in the tube (10) being sealed off behind the welding point (at 3) by means of a drag plug (behind 4), through the inner tube of which the test gas is directed into the welded tube, by the end of the tube wound onto the drum being closed tight by a cap (9), and by an annular chamber (7) which surrounds the tube and has the sniffing probe being arranged between the last fabricating tool (6) and the coiler (8).
