The device comprises a cylinder which has a front end and a rear end and a piston mounted so as to slide in the cylinder for a movement between a forward position and a retracted position. According to the invention, the piston 7 is provided with a rod part 10 which is composed of ribs which cross over each other, fitting into the cylinder and which has, at its rear end, notches 12, 13 for the fingers which extend transversely through longitudinal slits 14, 15 in the wall of the cylinder, the slits extending as far as the rear edge of the wall of the cylinder, a hood 20 being provided in order to close the rear end of the cylinder 1 and the rear ends of the slits 14, 15, the hood having an annular groove 21 in which the rear marginal parts of the cylinder 1 can engage.
