A loader comprises two spaced apart, firmly interconnected track-laying units 5, 6, each carrying a loading unit 19 which loads whilst the loader is stationary, the units 5, 6, enclosing between them a conveyer 25 for the reception of the loaded material. The units 5, 6, are connected together underneath the conveyer 25 by telescopic tubes (23), (21), (Fig. 4, not shown). Within the telescopic tubes are tiebolts (23) (Fig. 4, not shown) which can be secured to adjust the units 5, 6, to a desired spacing. Each unit 19 comprises a shovel carried on a telescopic extension 16. The latter is mounted on a turntable 11 which can be slewed by jacks 10. The shovels 19 may be elevated by the action of jacks 13. The conveyer 25 is a belt conveyer which is suspended from rails 26 and feeds a truck 29.</p> |
