The raw phosphate is decomposed completely with 50-65% (by wt) HNO3 at 20-90 degrees C and the strontium nitrate together with the insoluble residue which form, are separated. Calcium nitrate is extracted from the remaining soln. by cooling and the calcium nitrate is converted to other calcium cpds in the normal way. |
