摘要 PURPOSE:To relieve an impact at the outset of engagement as well as to aim at preventing a knock between gear teeth from occurring, by setting up both first and second subgears at the side part of a first main gear secured to a first shaft in a state of being forcibly pressed, while engaging these gears with a second main gear being coupled to a second shaft. CONSTITUTION:A crankshaft gear 3 is constituted of a central first main gear and first and second subgears 52 and 53 at both sides of the former being superposed on one another. A main gear 51 is fitted in a crankshaft 1 with a spline, while each of these subgears 52 and 53 is rotatably fitted in the crankshaft 1. Teeth of the subgear 52 are larger in number than the main gear 54 while that of the subgear 53 is smaller in number than the main gear 51, respectively. Since each of these gears 51, 52 and 53 has a little phase shift, at the initial stage of engagement with a gear 21, some buffer action works due to the subgear 52, and during engagement, a tooth 25 of the gear 21 is held between the main gear 51 and the subgear 53 with no space left between them so that backlash is in no case produced there.
