AN ANIMAL EAR TAG APPLICATOR TOOL

A tool which includes spaced apart first (33) and second (15) retention means each of which is adapted to retain an animal ear tag part. The tool has a body (10) to which is pivotally attached a lever (18). Movement of the lever (18) toward handle (11) of body (10) results in rectilinear movement of the first retention means (33) toward the second retention means (15). The tool has linkage means (27, 32) which transforms pivotal movement of the lever (18) into a varying speed rectilinear movement of the first retention means (33) toward the second retention means (15) relative to the movement of the lever (18) itself.
