Metering device for a liquid

Metering devices used in medical engineering, particularly when using implantable appliances, require high reliability and operational safety. Moisture in the internal space of the metering device can easily lead to faults or failures of moisture-sensitive components. At the very least, corrosion effects reduce the working life of the metering appliances. In order to prevent this, the metering device according to the invention is divided into two chambers (10, 12) hermetically separated from one another. The metering device therefore comprises a dry chamber (10) in which all moisture-sensitive components, such as motor (22) and gears (23), control (20), energy supply (18) etc. are located, and a wet chamber (12) in which the components which come into contact with the liquid (8), such as pump (1), tube (6), reservoir (28) etc. are located. Force is transmitted between the motor drive (22) in the dry chamber (10) and the delivery apparatus (1) in the wet chamber (12) via a front face or central rotary clutch (26) which is known per se, but which has been specially miniaturised particularly for this application.
