PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect the contact accuracy between engaging surfaces at a low cost, by applying a sticking material on one engaging surface to a certain thickness, applying a sticking prevention agent to the other engaging surface, and measuring the distribution of the film thickness of the sticking material along the gap shape between the engaging surfaces. CONSTITUTION:Natural hardening, sticking material, e.g., an epoxy resin 3 having hardening characteristic as shown by the Figure, is applied to a contact surface 11A of one gear 1. Sticking prevention agent, e.g., oil 4, is applied to a contact surface 21A of another gear 2. When the epoxy resin 3 is applied and hardened to the medium hardness, the gears 1 and 2 are engaged at times t2-t3. The thickness T of the remaining epoxy resin on the contact surface 11a of the gear 1 is measured in the direction of the gear 1 by using non-destructive film thickness gage. Thus the contact accuracy between the engaging surfaces can be found quantitatively at a low cost. |
