PURPOSE:To achieve entire uniform polishing by forming a plurality of projections extending perpendicularly against the faces of a pair of magnetic poles while placing ferromagnetic polishing powder between said projections then inserting a work and rotating while reciprocating in the direction of rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:Upon supply of exciting current for magnetizing the facing end faces of magnetic poles 1, 2 with different polarities from a power source to coils 11, 21, said magnetic poles 1, 2 are magnetized to produce magnetic field where the flux density between facing projections 13, 23 is higher than that in a recess between said projections and strong at the projected portion. The facing gap between the end faces 12, 22 is filled with polishing agent or ferro-magnetic polishing powder 3 a large part of which is adsorbed in step between each facing projections 13, 23 by the magnetic force to provide abrasing function to said powder 3. Then a work 4 is inserted and reciprocated axially with such stroke as longer than the pitch of said projections 13, 23 then said work 4 is generally rotated around the shaft to be polished uniformly by means of a board section polishing brush composed of ferro-magnetic polishing powder. |
