<p>The garment is knitted on a machine having three pairs of layers of needles in V formation, the body of the garment being knitted in tubular form on a first pair, and the sleeves, also in tubular form, being knitted on the other two pairs. After formation of the body and sleeves, the sleeves are moved adjacent to and knitted to the body, some columns of stitches or the body/sleeve being cast off to obtain the correct angular relationship between the sleeves and body. The needles of the first pair pref. co-operate with the needles of the other two pairs to knit the sleeves into the body.</p> |
