PURPOSE:To obtain a satisfactory image over a long period of time by moving a conveying member in such a way that the distance between the surface of a developer conveying member of a developing device and the surface of an image carrying body is increased in accordance with the joint part on the image carrying body. CONSTITUTION:A developing device 7 is energized by a spring 12 toward a photosensitive body 1 and is movable in an arrow direction. Contact rollers 9 which rotate in contact with both sides of the body 1 are provided on both sides of a developing sleeve 8. Arc-shaped cams 16 projecting from the surface of the body 1 are provided on both sides of a photosensitive drum 1' having a joint. Since the rollers are pushed in the direction opposite from the energizing direction of the spring 12 at the point of the time when a cam 16 comes to the position of the rollers 9 during rotation of the drum 1', the distance between the joint part of the body 1 and the sleeve 8 is eventually increased, by which the melt sticking of a developer on the surface of the sleeve 8 by the joint of the body 1 is obviated. |
