PURPOSE:To provide a resin composition having long-acting antithrombotic effect not only at the surface but also uniformly at the inner part of the resin, by combining a solution of an anticoagulant with inorganic powder, hydrophilic resin or water-absorbing resin, and adding and dispersing the above mixture uniformly in a hydrophobic resin. CONSTITUTION:A hydrophobic resin is compounded with a mixture of (A) a solution of an anticoagulant such as heparin, urokinase, etc. obtained by dissolving the anticoagulant in a solvent having a boiling point higher than the melting point of said resin and having high compatibility with water (e.g. polyhydric alcohol) and (B) inorganic powder having an average particle diameter of <=100mu and a specific surface area of >=0.6m<2>/g (e.g. porous silica, activated carbon, etc.) or a hydrophilic resin (e.g. PVA) or a water-absorbing resin (e.g. polyacrylic acid salt). The solution of the anticoagulant can be prepared by dissolving the anticoagulant in water, mixing the solution with said solvent, and removing water from the product. The migration of the anticoagulant in the polymer is promoted to effect the elongation of the antithrombotic effect for a long period. Even the cut surface of the molded article made of said resin composition exhibits antithrombotic activity. |
