PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester having reduced terminal carboxyl groups, a high polymerization degree and improved heat resistance, by adding 2,2'-1,3- phenylene-bis(2-oxazoline) to a polyester, and reacting them in a molten state. CONSTITUTION:Molten 2,2'-1,3-phenylene-bis(2-oxazoline) in an amount of 0.1- 5wt% is added to a polyester which is a polycondensate polymer of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and a 2-6C glycol in a molten state after the intrinsic viscosity thereof reaches 0.50, and reacted therewith to reduce the terminal carboxyl groups in an amount of 15g equivalent or less based on 10<6>g polymer. |
