MANUFACTURE OF MAGNETIC DISC SUBSTRATE

摘要

PURPOSE:To lengthen the service life of bite and to improve the face accuracy by employing a grinding process through surface grinder or a cloth polishing process through surface polisher prior to super fine surface turning process of aluminum disc. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum disc is annealed after rough surface turning then grinded by a surface grinder or cloth polished by a surface polish machine. Said surface polishing machine or surface polishing machine may be for single face or both faces and the aluminum disc is further applied with super fine surface turning and finished. When compared with conventional manufacturing method of magnetic disc substrate, the service life of diamond bite is lengthened about two times while the roughness of worked surface can be improved by 20%.
