PURPOSE:To efficiently dehydrate sludge, by using an anionic polymer substance mixture consisting of sodium alginate and an anionic polymer flocculant in secondary treatment. CONSTITUTION:A cationic polymer flocculant in added to org. sludge to perform primary treatment. Next, sodium alginate and an anionic polymer flocculant (e.g., a partial hydrolysate of polyacrylamide or a polyarylamide/sodium acrylate copolymer) are mixed in a wt. ratio of 9:1-1:9 and the resulting anionic polymer substance mixture is added to sludge in an amount of 0.5-5wt% of SS of said sludge.
