PURPOSE:To perform satisfactorily one side arc welding with good penetration without welding defects in one side arc welding of a welded joint by coating a flux to the butt part on the rear side of the joint and subjecting the front side groove to inert gas arc welding. CONSTITUTION:A flux 3 for welding is coated to the butt part on the rear side 2 of a joint 1. The flux is dried as it in and the groove part 4 on the front side is subjected to inert gas arc welding 5, 6. The one side arc welding is satisfactorily accomplished without inclusion of an oxide film, generation of a crack, etc. and without burn-through with good wettability even if no shielding gas is used. The operation is made extremely simple and the efficiency is improved. |
