PURPOSE:To achieve quick deceleration of internal-combustion engine, when stopping a reciprocal compression internal-combustion engine, by opening a deceleration valve for communication tube with crank angle in the proximity of top dead center of piston thereby discharging compressed air in the cylinder through the communication tube into the exhaust tube. CONSTITUTION:A communication tube 4 having one end opening to the inner wall at the cylinder side 2 and the other end coupled to the way of exhaust tube 3 is provided to cylinder head 1. While a deceleration valve 5 for opening/closing the opening at the cylinder side of said tube 4 is provided. Upon completion of compression stroke or at the dead center of piston 7, a deceleration valve 5 is opened to discharge compressed air in the cylinder 2 into the exhaust tube 3. Consequently, energy consumed for compression is discharged to provide brake function to the internal-combustion engine itself resulting in quick deceleration of internal-combustion engine. |
