PRODUCTION OF TWISTED WIRE HAVING NON-CIRCULAR SECTION

摘要

PURPOSE:To produce easily a twisted wire having a non-circular section without irregular arrangement by providing a guide having a hole approximate to the core of the twisted wire having the non-circular section between a perforated plate and a twisting mouth. CONSTITUTION:A guide plate 10 having a hole 16 which is elliptical in section is provided between a twisting mouth 9 and a perforated plate 8 and wires are twisted together by rotating the plate 8 and holding the plate 10 and the port 9 stationary. A flat rectangular copper wire is used as a core wire 1 and Nb3Sn wires are twisted as strands 2 around the same to obtain a flat rectangular twisted wire 6. The good twisted wire 6 is thus obtd. without disturbance in the position and twisting pitch of the strands 2 and the jumping out of the strands 2.
