PURPOSE:To prevent inclination and fall of a ladle and to make mold coating operation easy by inserting a circular cylindrical slag removing member having scraping pawls around the member into a ladle, making the member movable upward and downward and providing further a nozzle which can eject a mold coating material to the inside surface of the ladle. CONSTITUTION:A ladle 11 under standing by for slag removal is carried into a slag removing position 14 and a carriage 15 is also moved to a position 14. The ladle 11 is held by a holder 25. If a cylinder device 33 is extended to insert a slag removing member 42 through an aperture 13 into the ladle 11, scraper pawls 41 rise horizontally and scrape off the desulfurization slag. The member 42 is moved upward and downward several times by the device 33 and is turned by the cylinder device to perform scraping. The member 42 is removed from the ladle 11 after the operation and the holder 28 is released. The carriage 15 is moved to the standby position. a swiveling arm 48 is then swiveled to dispose a nozzle 51 above the ladle 11 and a mold coating material is sprayed from the nozzle. The mold coating operation is made possible in the slag removing position by the above-mentioned mechanism without fall, etc. of the ladle. |
