<p>PURPOSE:To solve the passability of a sheet material and to control accurately the sheet thickness of material after rolling by setting the gaps of initial-stage roll-gap setting devices installed between work rolls in accordance with the values calculated at every pass, in a single stand multipass rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:Initial-state roll-gap setting devices 2, 3 are installed between work rolls W1-Wn; W1-W4 for instance; these roll gaps are detected by detectors 4, 5, and are measured by measuring devices 6, 7 and inputted to arithmetic amplifiers 8, 9. The set roll gaps S20, S30 between the rolls W2 and W3, W3 and W4 of the 2nd and 3rd passes can be inputted to these amplifiers 8, 9, and the S20, S30 are kept as they are before rolling a sheet material 1, and when they are different from the outputs of the devices 6, 7, the differences between them are outputted as the correcting values. Control devices 10, 11 control the set values S20, S30 of the setting devices 2, 3 by said outputs. Here, when the sheet thicknesses obtained by rolling the material 1 between work rolls at each pass are expressed by h1-hn, and rolling loads of work rolls at each pass and mill constants are expressed by P1-Pn, M1-Mn respectively, Sn is calculated at each pass by the equation, and the set gaps of setting devices 2, 3 are set in accordance with the calculated values.</p> |
