Protective colloid from animal fat containing sterin and vegetable sterns and from raw animal bile has structural formula:-This is produced by mixing warm, liquid animal fat with HCl. On cooling, liquid "Kerrison Resin" separates (as greenish HCl enriched with cholesterol) from solid "Kerrison Fat". Resin can be used as disinfectant, for dissolving solid deposits ("fur") with protective colloid and preventing formation of solid deposits i pipelines, as setting accelerator for cements, including blast furnace slag cements containing Fe, and as disinfectant in natural and synthetic washing agents and detergents. Fat can be used for long-term preservation and sterilisation of animal fat, extracting nutrients from microbes, for cosmetic cleaning and protecting the skin and for protecting metals in pH range 1 - 10. |
