A supporting bearer for a swing-down table top (1) comprises a vertical stay (3) mountable on a supporting structure (2), a fastening bearer (4) which can be connected to the table top and articulated on the upper end of the stay, and a lower (7) and an upper (10) stay which, on the one hand, are articulated respectively on the lower end of the vertical stay (3) and on the free end of the fastening bearer (4) and, on the other hand, are connected to one another by means of a joint (11). This joint (11) between the lower and the upper stay is designed such that it allows the stays to bend inwards in the direction of the point of articulation (5) between the vertical stay (3) and fastening bearer (4), but not in the opposite direction outwards, and, with the table top swung up, it locks the lower and the upper stay rigidly to one another as a continuation of one another. The vertical stay (3), the fastening bearer (4), and the lower (7) and upper (10) stay are pivotable at least partially into one another when the table top (1) swings down. <IMAGE> |
