Furniture unit with adjustable table top

The furniture unit is provided with a frame which consists of two side parts (5) and a connection beam (2) and in which a table top (8) is secured adjustably. The table top (8) has a lateral bolt (26) on each side and rear retention pins which engage in catch grooves (35) of the side parts (5) and in recesses of the connection beam (2), respectively. A spring-mounted safety bolt (16) is also provided, which is mounted in such a way that it can move to and fro and engages with its head (42) in a vertical slot (41) of the connection beam (2). The catch grooves (35) open at one end are provided with an inner and an outer catch position for the lateral bolts (26). The distance of the catch positions from one another is at least the same size as the length of the part of the retention pin engaging in the recesses. If the table top (8) is now pulled out for the purpose of adjustment, the lateral bolts (26) first engage in the safety catches. The table can now be comfortably adjusted in inclination by one person. For adjusting the height, the lateral bolts (26) must be removed completely from the catch grooves (35). <IMAGE>
