1. An air conditioning device for railroad vehicles, with passenger compartments and air feeder ducts serving these compartments, the temperature of the fresh air supplied being sufficient to attain the desired target temperature in the compartments for a given number of passengers therein, and an additional thermostat-controlled heating unit being provided in each compartment in order to maintain the desired target temperature in the compartment if the number of passengers in the compartments drops below that referred to above, wherein the air feeder duct of each compartment contains a throttling device permitting a continuous but limited reduction of the inflow cross-section, and wherein the said throttling device is connected to the additional heating unit in such a way that the outflow cross-section of the air feeder duct is reduced by a predetermined degree upon increased activity of the additional heating unit due to a decrease in the number of passengers in the compartment. |
