<p>In the case (1) is a shaft to which one end of the belt is attached. At one end of this shaft is a flat, coiled spring for tensioning the belt. The other end of the shaft carries a ratchet wheel (2). Pivoting about a pin in the casing (4) is a pawl (3) which is, in the normal position, lying against a stop (15) and held open by a tension spring (10). A link (9 is attached to the bawl, the other end being part (18) of a weight (13) having restricted movement (14). A sudden speed change operates the link and spring and the pawl locks the ratchet.</p> |
