PURPOSE:To place a slab on a slab conveying shoe of a pusher furnace by detecting a camber center of a slab with a CPC sensor and enabling the center to coincide with a center of the position for placing the slab of a slab conveying shoe. CONSTITUTION:The titled device comprises a slab receiving roller 12, a slab receiving bed 13 movable on a roller 14 at the erecting stage of the slab, and a CPC sensor for detecting the position of the slab at the erecting stage of the slab. Said roller 12 moves the slab by the revolution of a shaft 21 at the erecting stage of the slab by shifting the center of rotational axis 20 of the roller 12 from the center of the axis of a roller bearing 21, and the slab conveyed from the conveyor 1 in the state fallen sideways, is placed on a placing bed on the roller 12 and erected. In this state, the center of the camber is detected against the change of the camber of the slab. Next, the slab is moved so as to coincide the position for placing the slab of the slab conveying shoe 22 with the center of the camber of the slab, and the slab is placed automatically on the shoe 22. |
