PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of information read by providing an index area on a recording medium and using a naming for retrieval to minimize the amount of an index memory in a recording medium for retrieval usable as a picture file. CONSTITUTION:The index area 4 is provided at the inside of a picture area 1a of the recording medium and a digital data 4c in pairs with a naming 4a and an address 4b of a picture corresponding thereto is stored in the area 1a. Thus, the retrieval by naming is performed by referencing the index area 4. |
