Device making it possible to render reversible the operation of the transformer converter of an inverter and thus permit the recharging of the storage batteries of the inverter. It consists of a decision logic unit 8 allowing the winding 5 to deliver energy to the storage battery via the charging circuit 6 when the transformer 4 is supplied by the network to be backed-up 1. When the network to be backed-up 1 is defective, the decision logic unit 8 disables operation of the switch 3 and also isolates the network 1 from the backed-up network 2 and the transformer 4. It also disables operation of the charger 6. This logic unit 8 allows start-up of the inverter 9 which draws its energy in the battery 7 and converts it via the transformer 4 in order to distribute it to the network 2. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for producing an electrical power supply for computer or electronic systems. <IMAGE>
