The invention relates to a new type of rigging which has a smaller surface and greater efficiency than a conventional sail and allows the user greater ease of handling of the assembly. This application extends from the windsurfing board to the land yacht etc. This rigging whose sail shape is close to a trapezoidal surface comprising two clew points 1 and 10 on the drop and comprises two mutually parallel wishbones 3 and 6. The function of these two wishbones is to hold the sail in the desired shape. By hoisting the two clew points to a greater or lesser extent in an independent or associated fashion there is a differential adjustment on the incidence of the sail obtained whilst also creating traction forces of direction 8 and 9. <IMAGE>
