MULTIPLE CATALYST FOR MAKING HYDROCARBONS FROM CO-H2

In a process for the preparation of an aromatic hydrocarbon mixture, a H2/CO mixture is contacted with a catalyst mixture containing a first catalyst which is capable of converting the H2/CO mixture into oxygenated compounds (e.g. a Zn-Cr mixture containing 60-80%Zn) and as a second catalyst a crystalline iron silicate with a SiO2/Fe2O3 ratio of 30-50, and characterized by its X-ray powder diffraction pattern: The process is carried out at a temperature of between 200 and 500 DEG C, a pressure of 1-150 bar and a space velocity of 50-5000 NI of gas/l of catalyst/h.
